Self-belief is Like a Muscle

Ben Saunders is a record-breaking polar explorer and a three-time main stage TED speaker who has covered more than 4,500 miles on foot in the polar regions since 2001.

He holds the world record for the longest ever human-powered polar journey, and is the third in history to ski solo to both the North and South poles.

In this Boost session, Ben explains how the key ingredient in his achievements has been self-belief: “Our ability to persevere is a measure of how much we believe in ourselves. Self-belief is like a muscle, and the stimulus that makes it stronger is endeavour. The courage to act without certainty.”
