Mindset in Conflict zones
Hamish is one of the world’s leading and most current experts in chemical and biological counter terrorism and warfare. With over thirty years of experience working and volunteering in conflict zones, he has a unique understanding of how to prevent attacks and advise people on the front line. A diagnosis of Sudden Death Syndrome – a heart condition that could kill him at any time - and dealing with prostrate cancer, has driven him to make the most of life. In this session he shares how his experiences in some of the most pressurised environments and warzones, have taught him overcome adversity and stay calm under pressure. From advising Peshmerga’s – the Iraqi Kurd military – on chemical weapons, to surviving being fired at with chlorine mortars, his bravery and compassion is something we can all learn from.
